Empowering Rural Women and Youth
Build a World Where All WoMEN and Youth Are Safe, Strong & Valued
Who We Are
Ubuntu‘s work is at the heart of grassroots transformation. The organization has consistently worked among those who have been excluded and exploited, such as farm women, the unemployed, fisher communities, rural and youth who are deprived of their voice being heard and are unfairly discriminated against. At the core of Ubuntu’s work is a people-centered approach.
Ubuntu works in an intersectional way across four themes: Land, Food, Environment, and Gender Based Violence. Our work spans the Western Cape, Northern Cape, and Eastern Cape, facilitated
through partnerships with various National and International networks.

When the lockdown was announced in 2020, there was lots of anxiety among the people of Klapmuts (outside Cape Town). Thanks to the support from our shareholder the Social Change Assistance Trust, the team at the Ubuntu Rural Women and Youth Movement was able to come to the aid of the people of Klapmuts. You can read their story here below, and please share it with your friends.
